On grief and belonging
[Shared via Newsletter March 4, 2025]
Dear Ones,
Belonging is an essential human need. We seek to be welcomed, to be in community and accepted unconditionally as we are. Without judgment. We long to connect with others deeply, with our painful emotions. Yet, so many of us haven’t experienced brave spaces where this happens. So, we learn to carry our grief and sorrow alone. In the dark.
Grief is heavy in the air and within many of our bodies right now.
How are you tending to it? Where are your communities to bravely hold and tend to it?
What would it feel like to shine a light on it within a tender and brave community?
If you find yourself without a brave community to hold your grief, consider joining a Root and Soar Together community group. Or a Reiki session with me to cultivate peace, calm and clarity.
“Sorrow is a sustained note in the song of being alive. To be human is to know loss in many forms. This should not be seen as a depressing truth. Acknowledging this reality enables us to find our way into the grace that lies hidden in sorrow. We are most alive at the threshold between loss and revelation; every loss ultimately opens the way for a new encounter”
-Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Rituals of Renewal and the Sacred Work of Grief
You do not carry this all alone. Come share and allow yourself to be seen. You know how to find me.
